Leamington was named Canada's best place to live by MoneySense magazine and is known as the "Tomato Capital of Canada". Stompin' Tom Connors mentions Leamington in his famous tune "The Ketchup Song" and the information booth in the center of town is a large fiberglass tomato. Even the water tower is a giant tomato. Another fruit this area is well known for is the grape. Pelee Island Winery is making it’s way up the vine of achievements with many awards for their excellence in winemaking. Canada's warmest and southernmost appellation has brought in gold year after year.

May is the busiest season for birdwatchers coming to the area. The Pelee Region is well known for bird watching with visitors coming from all over Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Another important natural area near Leamington is the wetland at Hillman Marsh Conservation Area one of the region's most significant wetlands in Essex County.

Ferry service out of Leamington is with the MV Jiimaan. The MV Jiimaan is the largest passenger ferry along the Lake Erie route to Pelee Island. At 61 metres in length, the Jiimaan can transport 400 passengers and 40 vehicles. The Seacliffe in is located just a stones throw from the ferry terminal. And don’t forget, if you’re coming by land or sea from the U.S., a passport is not required. Sail through customs and right into the Leamington Municipal Marina.
